t Place in Winter.
Rye's Winter moves around the football season visit a home
match on a Saturday to see the Demons play. Local footy
tipping is a prized art.
During Winter the locals catch up socially and at home since
the beach weather has gone for a while. They talk about the
summer just gone and plan for the summer to come.
Hibernation is commonplace as everyone rugs up and uses
their homes again. The beaches become deserted. Thick winter
wet-suits are now the order and ugg boots and beanies are
commonplace.
The semi-locals - the ones we call weekenders often
say that Winter is the best time - easy to move around,
quiet and peaceful, no racing to get ready for the beach
- just total relaxation.
