Rosebudboasts an abundance of boat hire facilities and at Rye, the jetty is home to several charter and fishing boats.
The ferries to Queenscliff compete with many othersightseeing vessels at Sorrento s pier - whilst a stroll along thepier offers amazing views back to the shoreline.
THE Peninsula is known for its fabulous beaches and water activities and it s easy to see why so many people flock here all year round.
Beaches around the Bay Frankston waterfront is always buzzingwith great swimming, yachting andboating activities.
The long pierand boardwalk are a great way totake in the magic and our local LifeSaving Club patrols the beach over summer.
There are some great picnicand barbeque facilities plus a kid s playground on the foreshore whichis ideal for families and even manylocals don t realize that this is rated as Victoria s favourite beach and has even won Australia s Cleanest Beach Award.
The stretch of coast from Mount Eliza to Mornington has some lovely beaches too, including Daveys Bay and Half Moon Bay.
A spectacular place to enjoy the sunset is Canadian Bay with picnic tables and toiletfacilities nearby.
Mornington is a hub ofwater activity around the harbor and hassome patrolled swimming beaches duringsummer and great facilities for families.
The boardwalk and lookouts around Schnapper Point offer beautiful scenery and are definitely worth a visit.
Continuing down the coastline from SafetyBeach to Rosebud there are many shelteredlocations to choose from.
This area is very popular with holiday makers andfamilies as picnic shelters, barbecues andplaygrounds are dotted all along this sectionof coast.
On windy days, kite surfers loveto get out around Rosebud foreshore andare amazing to watch in action.
In Rye and Blairgowrie, popular spots are opposite the shopping strips with easyaccess to amenities and picnic areas.
34 Rye is fantastic for snorkeling and the pier here is home to Octopuses Garden , an amazing underwater trail offering a unique experience.
The communitybuilt playground is also nearby on thelarge grassy lawns and will keep the kids entertained for hours.
Heading down into Sorrento, there arelovely picnic spots to choose from withbreathtaking scenery that beckons youto stop.
A few hours can easily be lazed away watching the action on the water orthe Sorrento to Queenscliff car ferry which departs every hour.
Ocean Beaches For any keen surfers out there, thebeaches from Portsea to Gunnamatta are only suitable for those who are veryexperienced.
Definitely not for beginners, this stretch of water is ranked as one of the worlds most dangerous.
Sorrento back beach has great facilitiesincluding a kiosk and restaurant.
At low tide, the rock pools here are a fun activitywhere the kids can check out marine wildlife and find all sorts of aquaticcreatures.
The popular Point Leo Surf Beach is alsopatrolled in summer and with a locationseveral kilometres inside the entrance to Western Port Bay provides some protection from high ocean waves.
The large foreshore reserve also has a kiosk, campinggrounds, picnic area and barbeque facilities.
Westernport Bay offers some lovely sheltered beaches around Merricks, Balnarring Somers.
Also blessed with a wide foreshore reserve area, there aremany areas with great facilities to set upfor the day.
